I did the same for resume questions, i.e., I tried to structure my answers to questions like "Why our firm?" Joining a consulting club can provide you with numerous benefits: networking, learning how to do a case study, assistance with resume and cover letter writing, and access to resources to prepare for interviews. The sole purpose of clubs is to provide students with practical experience through learning and relationship building.

1) On campus / Send in your Application - Recruiting. When I was at Stanford, McKinsey would come on campus to recruit in December or January each year (I forget the exact month). Hint - recruiting coordinators have a slow season, and I had contacted this person during her slow month. The story above is an example of #2.

Make sure you take time to find who the recruiting contacts are for your region of the country or even your specific school and be comfortable reaching out to those individuals. If you happen to attend a non-target school then the next best thing would be to attend a virtual recruiting and case interview workshop.
